How to make a plastic rope

Why you should choose our rope:

We think you should choose our rope because you can use a rope to a lot of different things. For example you can use it to build swings, carry things with it and you can make it thinner and use it for cloth lines.

Step one:

Get three plastic bags and make three strips of plastic from each bag.

Step two:

Braid together three strips at a time and then braid together the small braids to a thicker rope.

How to braid:

Step three:

Melt together the ends so it won’t loosen up. You can use hot charcoal to melt the ends together.

Step four:

If you want, you can melt together a lot of these ropes to make a longer or thicker rope.

Step five:

Use the rope as you wish.

Den här gången använde vi våra 12 remsor. Vi tog tre åt gången och gjorde dem till små rep sen tog vi de fyra små repen och gjorde de till ett större rep. Det nya repet har blivit lite mjukare än det andra så vi vet inte än om vi ska använda det för det kanske inte är tillräckligt hållbart. Vi har inte hunnit testa repet än om det är bättre och starkare än det andra repet men vi tror att det kanske inte är bättre och starkare. Vi valde att prova göra ett till rep för att få det längre och bättre än det gamla för det var ganska kort.

Vi har beslutat att göra en ny förbättrad prototyp som blir längre och starkare av en stor soppåse. Idag har vi klippt 12 remsor av den och nästa gång ska vi fläta den till ett rep.

Idag har vi tillverkat vår första prototyp. Vi använde en plastpåse till att fläta ett litet rep sen tog vi två plastpåsar till och flätade två små rep till, sen flätade vi tillsammans de små repen till ett större rep och smälte ihop kanterna så den höll ihop. Och sen testade vi hållbarheten genom att dra i repet och den var rätt bra.
